جمعية السلام والتنميةPDA تستقبل سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي وسفيرة هولندا للاطلاع على نتائج مشروع تعزيز الوعي بحقوق الإنسان
استقبلت جمعية السلام والتنمية (PDA) في مقرها وفدًا دبلوماسيًا رفيع المستوى ضم سعادة السفير باتريك سيمونيه، سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي لدى اليمن، وسعادة السفيرة جانيت سيبن، سفيرة مملكة هولندا لدى اليمن، والوفد المرافق لهما، وذلك في زيارة هدفت إلى الاطلاع على نتائج المشروع الذي نفذته الجمعية بعنوان “تعزيز الوعي بمفاهيم حقوق الإنسان ومبادئ الحماية العامة والإحالة”، والممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي ومملكة هولندا عبر المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان.
وخلال الزيارة، قدمت الجمعية عرضًا شاملاً حول المشروع، متناولًا أبرز أنشطته والنتائج التي حققها في رفع مستوى الوعي بمفاهيم حقوق الإنسان و الحماية العامة لا سيما بين النساء في المجتمعات المتأثرة بالنزاع، والدور الذي أسهم به المشروع في تعزيز المعرفة ونشر الوعي المجتمعي.
كما استعرضت الجمعية رؤيتها ورسالتها، وأبرز برامجها ومشاريعها في مجالات بناء السلام، وتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي، وتمكين النساء والشباب، وتعزيز الوعي المدني، والتمكين الاقتصادي، والاستجابة للقضايا الإنسانية والتنموية، إلى جانب خططها المستقبلية الرامية إلى توسيع نطاق تدخلاتها وتعزيز أثرها في خدمة المجتمعات المحلية.
وشهد اللقاء نقاشًا مثمرًا حول واقع العمل الإنساني والتنموي في اليمن، والدور المحوري الذي تؤديه منظمات المجتمع المدني المحلية في الاستجابة لاحتياجات المجتمعات وتعزيز السلام والتنمية المستدامة.
وفي ختام الزيارة، أعربت جمعية السلام والتنمية عن خالص شكرها وتقديرها للاتحاد الأوروبي ومملكة هولندا والمفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان على دعمهم المتواصل، مؤكدةً التزامها بمواصلة تنفيذ برامج نوعية تسهم في تعزيز حقوق الإنسان، وبناء السلام، وتمكين المجتمعات المحلية، وتحقيق تنمية مستدامة في اليمن.
Peace and Development Association (PDA) Welcomes the European Union Ambassador and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Review the Outcomes of a Human Rights Project
The Peace and Development Association (PDA) welcomed a high-level diplomatic delegation to its headquarters, including H.E. Patrick Simonnet, Ambassador of the European Union to Yemen, H.E. Jeannette Seppen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Yemen, and their accompanying delegation. The visit was organized to review the outcomes of the project “Enhancing Awareness of Human Rights Concepts and General Protection and Referral Principles,” implemented by PDA with funding from the European Union and the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
During the visit, PDA delivered a comprehensive presentation on the project, highlighting its key activities, achievements, and impact in strengthening awareness of human rights, general protection principles, and referral mechanisms, particularly among women in conflict-affected communities. The presentation also showcased the project’s contribution to promoting community awareness and fostering a stronger culture of human rights.
The Association further presented its vision, mission, and broader portfolio of programs and initiatives in the fields of peacebuilding, social cohesion, women’s and youth empowerment, civic space, economic empowerment, humanitarian and development response, as well as its strategic plans for future interventions aimed at expanding its impact and serving local communities.
The meeting also featured a constructive exchange on the humanitarian and development context in Yemen and the vital role played by local civil society organizations in responding to community needs and advancing sustainable peace and development.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Peace and Development Association expressed its sincere appreciation to the European Union, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for their continued support. The Association reaffirmed its commitment to implementing high-impact programs that promote human rights, strengthen peacebuilding efforts, empower local communities, and contribute to sustainable development in Yemen.
